Theatre: A Peep Show for Cinderella (in italian language)

“A Peep Show for Cinderella” is, first and foremost, a dramatic space, an evocative set design, a dance-theatre creation conceived and designed specifically for that Place which thrives on gazes, on hidden eyes that watch without being seen. A stage space consisting of a circular platform, surrounded by 14 individual glass-walled booths that will accommodate 14 audience members.

The space creates an intimate, almost secret relationship between actor and spectator. Used in the 1920s as a venue for games of seduction and sensuality amidst a velvet-clad atmosphere, the Peep Show now has a new purpose: Teatro la Ribalta-Kunst der Vielfalt has decided to transform it into a performance space suited to the times we are living in, thereby ensuring physical distancing without losing the uniqueness of live performance or sacrificing social interaction.

Cinderella serves as a pretext, a point of inspiration, leading into themes of desire, appearance and beauty.
