The transnational initiative "Young Soloists on the Podium", which aims to promote outstanding young musicians from South Tyrol and North Tyrol in a special way and present them to a larger concert audience, takes place alternately in Merano and Bressanone. In addition to the Tyrolean chamber orchestra Innstrumenti with its director and presenter Gerhard Sammer, the Institute for Music Education (German and Ladin Music Schools Department in the German Ministry of Education) played a key role in developing and promoting the project. The South Tyrolean Artists' Association is also involved by commissioning compositions from South Tyrolean and North Tyrolean composers, with the effect that young musicians get to grips with contemporary music.
